Sunrisers Hyderabad have registered their first in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) in their third match against Punjab Kings. They pick up an easy win of 8 wickets on Sunday (April 9) in Hyderabad.

Punjab fell into a batting disaster after being sent to bat first by Hyderabad. Captain Shikhar Dhawan was the lone fighter for Punjab throughout the whole innings. Punjab lost 9 wickets for just 88 runs in 15 overs on a good batting wicket but opener Dhawan was still there at that time. Dhawan alone took the score to 143/9 after the scheduled 20 overs and he was unbeaten on 99 runs off 66 balls with 12 fours and 5 sixes.

Except for him, only Sam Curran reached the double-digit score. He scored 22 runs from 15 balls. Spinner Mayank Markande was the best bowler for Hyderabad with 4 wickets.

Chasing the target, Hyderabad looked comfortable throughout their whole chase. However, English batter Harry Brook’s poor form continued as he scored 13 runs off 14 balls on the day after opening the innings with Mayank Agarwal, who scored 21 runs off 20 balls.

Rahul Tripathi and captain Aiden Markram made an unbeaten 100-run partnership for the third wicket to win the match for the team with 17 balls in hand. Tripathi hit a half-century and was unbeaten on 74 runs off 48 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes. Markram was unbeaten on 37 runs from 21 balls.
