In the high-voltage match of the World Cup, Bangladesh is all set to face the host India on Thursday (October 19). India, in flying form, is going to be a tough opponent for Bangladesh. But the Tigers are also desperate to win.
Bangladesh won 1 and lost 2 matches in the World Cup so far. The performance of the pacers was questionable in all the matches. Especially Taskin Ahmed, who was at the peak of form, has not been able to match himself yet. Before the India match, the Tigers' pace bowling was asked about it. However, head coach Chandika Hathurusingha showed his trust in the pacers.
In the press conference on the eve of the match, Hathurusingha said, "Bangladesh's fast-bowling unit can be key tomorrow given the conditions on this wicket. They have done well in the past. If you consider that and their performance in the last two or three games, they would be the first to say that they haven't done enough. They have spoken about it. They can do better than this, and they have done in the past."
Considering the wicket and the opponent, Hathurusingha hinted at keeping an extra bowler in the XI, “You need to have an extra bowling option. The wicket is going to be good. India has a very strong batting line-up. That's one consideration we are thinking of.”
Bangladesh will play against India tomorrow on October 19. The game will start at 2:30 pm Bangladesh time.
