MS Dhoni, the former captain of Chennai Super Kings, has played four matches so far this season. He has scored 76 runs. Although he has shown glimpses of his power by hitting big sixes and boundaries, the fans are worried about his strike rate. He has taken more balls to score those runs, which at times, cost the team.

Some feel Dhoni hasn't switched gears when the team needed him most. Others believe it's too early to judge. The tournament still has many matches left. Dhoni has time to find his rhythm and silence his critics.
It remains to be seen how the veteran will go about his work in the upcoming games this season. Meanwhile, the Ranchi-born is also close to achieving two big records in IPL history.
1. 98 Not Outs in IPL
Dhoni has remained not out 98 times in the IPL, which is already a record. No other player comes close. Ravindra Jadeja is second on the list with 77 not-outs.
If Dhoni remains not out two more times this season, then he will reach 100 not-outs. If that's the case, it will make him the first player in IPL history to reach this rare milestone, which would only be possible because of his consistency and finishing skills over the years.
2. Closing in on Suresh Raina’s IPL Runs
Suresh Raina, Dhoni’s former teammate, scored 5,528 runs in his IPL career. Dhoni is not far behind. He needs 209 more runs to overtake Raina.
With a few good innings, Dhoni can cross that mark. If he finds form, he can do it easily. This would be another big achievement for him, especially at this stage of his career. Dhoni, who scored 5319 runs at an average of 39.4, has smashed 24 fifties to his name, registering his personal best score of 84*.
