Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) skipper Rajat Patidar has been fined for slow over-rate in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium on April 7.

Patidar is the fourth captain to be fined in the 2025 Indian Premier League season, along with Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, and Riyan Parag. The announcement was made by the IPL through a press release on Tuesday morning, April 8.
"For this being the first time his team, during this season, was guilty under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct, dealing with minimum score breaches, Patidar was fined Rs 1.2 million," said the IPL in a statement.
Patidar becomes the fourth skipper to be fined for slow over rate. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant, Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya, and RR stand-in skipper Riyan Parag also were fined.
RCB beat Mumbai in a nail-biting final over at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday. Rajat Patidar hit 64 off 32 balls against MI. Patidar was in top gear both with the bat and as captain. The right-handed hitter dominated the RCB spin pair of Suyash Sharma and Krunal Pandya.
RCB began the season on a good note, a far cry from last season. They were attacking with both bat and ball, which has yielded them good results this season.
