Zimbabwe has announced a 15-man squad for the coming Test series against Bangladesh. It will be the team's first outing on the subcontinent since 2020.

Sean Williams and Craig Ervine are back in Zimbabwe's Test team for the coming Test series against Bangladesh. The duo, who were experienced players, had missed Zimbabwe's previous Test outing against Ireland in February. While Williams was absent from the game due to a back issue, captain Ervine was away because of a last-minute family emergency.

In total, Zimbabwe replaced three players from the team that toured Ireland in February. Wicketkeeper-batter Joylord Gumbie is replaced by Tafadzwa Tsiga, who is back in the national team after two years since his Test debut against the West Indies.

Back too is left-arm spinner Wellington Masakadza, last seen playing Test cricket in the same series against the West Indies in 2023. He replaces youngster pace bowler Newman Nyamhuri.

Fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani, who created history in February by being the first-ever Zimbabwean pacer to bag seven wickets in a Test innings, will spearhead the bowling attack alongside Richard Ngarava.

Head coach Justin Sammons was upbeat before the large tour. "We are looking forward very much to a period when Test cricket will be our only priority," he said.

"I am certain this group of players will keep developing both as individuals and as a team as they are confronted with new challenges in varied conditions." "The team has been selected to provide the best possible mix to counter whatever comes our way."

The two Tests will be played in Sylhet (April 20-24) and Chattogram (April 28-May 2). Zimbabwe last played a Test in Bangladesh in February 2020 when the hosts won a one-off match in Dhaka by an innings and 106 runs.
