The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) saw a touch of excitement in the opening match. In the last over match, Durdanto Dhaka beat Comilla Victorians by 5 wickets. Chaturanga De Silva gave the team victory by hitting a wonderful six at the end.

Dhaka won the toss and sent Comilla into bat first at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Comilla's two openers Litton Das and Imrul Kayes started to bat. Litton seemed a bit shaky from the start. He luckily escaped dismissal.

But Litton's fortunes did not last long. After playing an innings of 13 runs from 16 balls for the team's 23 runs, captain Litton was caught by Naim Sheikh and returned to the dressing room.

After that, Towhid Hridoy, who came to bat at No. 3, continued to move forward with another opener Imrul Kayes. Imrul seemed to be fluent with time. He also scored several boundaries and added runs to the team's board. Comilla scored 44 runs after losing Litton's wicket in 6 overs of Powerplay.

Even at the end of the powerplay, Comilla's innings progressed almost at the same pace. Hridoy and Imrul settled down at the crease. Imrul was approaching fifty with fluent batting. Hridoy also continued to score runs with brilliant batting. Imrul eventually reached his fifty but Hridoy couldn’t. He could not reach fifty despite going very close. After playing an innings of 47 runs from 41 balls, Hridoy was dismissed at the the team's 130 runs. Imrul also got out in the same over. He played an innings of 66 runs from 56 balls.

Khushdil Shah played a cameo innings of 13 runs off 5 balls hitting two sixes in the eventful last over. Shoriful Islam took a hat-trick in the last 3 balls by taking the wickets of Khushdil, Roston Chase and Mahidul Islam Ankon. At the end of the scheduled 20 overs, Comilla lost 6 wickets and collected 143 runs.

Shoriful Islam took 3 wickets for Dhaka. Besides, Taskin Ahmed got 2 wickets. Chaturanga de Silva took 1 wicket.

Opener Naim Sheikh gave Dhaka a dream start to respond. He continued to score runs on the team's board with attacking batting. Another opener, Danushka Gunathilaka, was not so sharp, but he was supporting Naim very well. Naim started making runs at one end. He continued to bat without giving the Comilla bowlers an iota of relief.

Dhaka scored 56 runs without a wicket in 6 overs of Powerplay. Naim's rampage continued even at the end of the powerplay. Dhaka went a long way to victory with attacking batting. Naim Sheikh picked up a great fifty. 101 runs came from Dhaka's opening pair. After playing a great innings of 52 runs from 40 balls, Naim was dismissed. He was dismissed by Comilla's spinner Tanvir Islam.

In his next over, Tanvir also dismissed another opener, Danushka Gunathilaka. Gunathilaka scored 41 runs off 42 balls. After losing two set batters, Dhaka's run rate decreased a bit. Lasith Croospulle, who batted at No. 3, was dismissed for 5 runs off 8 balls. He was dismissed by Mustafizur Rahman.

In the end, the match got quite intense. Comilla returned to the match by picking up multiple wickets. Dhaka needed 13 runs in the last 2 overs. Khushdil Shah bowled and dismissed Saif Hassan. The match got more intense. However, Irfan Sukkur took Dhaka to the brink of victory by hitting a six on the last ball of that over.

Dhaka needed 4 runs in the last over. Mustafizur came to the bowling. 1 run came from the first ball, Mustafizur missed an easy chance to run out. He dismissed Irfan on the next ball. Irfan scored 24 runs off 16 balls before returning to the dressing room. But Chaturanga de Silva won Dhaka by hitting a six on the very next ball. Dhaka won by 5 wickets with 3 balls in hand.
