The ICC Women's World Cup Qualifiers are going really well for the Bangladesh Women's Cricket Team.  The Tigresses are now at the top of the points table with 6 points from 3 games, after beating Scotland by 34 runs in their third straight win.  With each game, their chances of making it to the World Cup get better.

Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat first when they played at Lahore's famous Gaddafi Stadium.  The middle order did well, even though starter Ishma Tanjim couldn't make the most of his chances (14 off 29).  As a pair, Sharmin Akhter and Fargana Hoque made a strong showing, hitting 57 runs each for their fifty.

But once more, captain Nigar Sultana Joty stole the show.  The captain was in great shape and played an aggressive game, keeping one end stable while pounding the bowlers at the other.  Bangladesh's highest-ever score in Women's ODIs, 276/6, was led by her unbeaten 83 off just 59 deliveries.  Their previous best score was 271, which they got against Thailand earlier in the same event.

Ritu Moni added 12 off 13 and Fahima Khatun scored 26 off 22.  With two runs from the last ball, Nahida Akter was still not out.  Nepal's Kathryn Bryce, who took two wickets, was the best bowler for them.

Bangladesh's pace and spin attack made it easy for Scotland to lose early in their response.  Marufa Akter got the first run and got starter Abbi Aitken-Drummond out with a beautiful inswinger.  Scotland was then down to 31/3 after Nahida Akter beat Kathryn Bryce and Pip Sprowle.

Alysa Lister (18) and Sarah Bryce (42 off 58) tried to save the game, but their 57-run partnership ended at 78.  As expected, Bangladesh's bowlers kept up the pressure. Even though Priyanaz Chatterji (61 off 63) and Rachel Slater (61* off 73) made a late comeback, Scotland lost and ended the game at 242/7.  Bangladesh won by a large margin of 34 runs.

In their fourth group game, on April 17, Bangladesh will play West Indies.
