When cricket fans hear the name Tamim Iqbal, they immediately think of strong shots, beautiful boundaries, and game-winning sixes.  He used to be the best cricket player in Bangladesh, but now he's in a hospital bed, working hard to get fit.

During a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) game, Tamim had a heart attack after quickly feeling a lot of pain in his chest.  He was taken to KPJ Specialised Hospital in Savar right away, and an angiogram showed that an artery was stopped.  He was taken to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) for close tracking after a stent (ring) was put in his heart.

His mother, wife Ayesha Siddiqa, and brother Nafees Iqbal went to the hospital with him.  The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) called off its board meeting right away because officials wanted to focus on Tamim's health.

As news of Tamim’s health scare spread, an outpouring of support came from across the cricketing world. Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary shared an emotional message on Facebook, "You have to win this battle, my friend—just like the trademark Tamim Iqbal style! Get well soon, Tamim Iqbal!"

Fans and players all over the world are still praying for his quick recovery. They want him to come back stronger than ever.

The doctors have confirmed that Tamim is now steady and awake.  He has talked to family members, but he is still being closely watched by doctors.

Fans have been told not to gather at the hospital by the BCB because it could get in the way of surgery.  Through official statements, there will be regular reports.
