Bangladesh cricket star Tamim Iqbal is getting medical care at KPJ Specialized Hospital in Savar. The popular opener in the country had a sudden heart attack on March 24. He needed CPR, a DC shock, and an emergency stent operation to open up a blocked artery.  He is now in safe health and on the road to recovery thanks to quick medical help.

But Tamim was on the other side just two years ago, helping other people in emergency problems.  In 2022, he met Anup Elvin Adhikari, who lived in Dhaka, while working on a business project.  During their talk, Tamim found out that Anup's dad had been having heart problems for four years but couldn't afford surgery.  Without thinking twice, Tamim agreed to pay for the whole process.

Now that Tamim had his own heart problem that could have killed him, he thought deeply about that time.

In his first social media post since the heart attack, Tamim shared a heartfelt message with his fans, “Two years ago, during Ramadan, I met Anup, whose father had been unable to undergo heart surgery due to financial difficulties. I decided to cover the cost so he could get the treatment he needed.”

Tamim continued with a powerful realization about life and mortality, “Our heartbeat keeps us alive, yet it can stop at any moment without warning—something we tend to forget. When I started my day yesterday, did I know what was going to happen to me?”

Expressing gratitude for his second chance at life, he wrote, “By the grace of Allah and the prayers of my loved ones, I have made it through. I was fortunate to have some incredible people around me whose quick thinking and efforts saved my life.”

Tamim concluded his message with a humble request to his fans, “Some moments remind us of the reality, how short our life is. If nothing else, let’s stand by each other in times of crisis. That’s my only request. I am deeply grateful for your prayers and love. Please continue to pray for me and my family. Without your love, I am nothing.”
