After a disastrous performance on Tuesday on their first game at home, Sylhet Sixers have turned the table to stun Rangpur Riders on match number 18 of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). [Read also: বামহাতি ওয়ার্নার যখন ডানহাতি ব্যাটসম্যান!]

Rangpur Riders skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza won the toss and opted to field first. Sylhet were off to a firing start and Liton Das paired well with his new opening partner Sabbir Rahman. After consistent poor performances, tonight was the day for Liton as he smacked 70 off just 43 balls. Sabbir supported his partner well, but couldn't give a full-stop to his poor form as he departed with only 20 runs under his belt. Skipper David Warner joined the party with Liton and smacked bowlers all over the park. With 6 fours and 2 sixes, he scored an unbeaten 61 off just 36 and his shots as a right-handed batsman was a treat to watch. The skipper led his side from the front and took his side to a huge score of 187 runs. In reply, Rangpur were in all sorts of trouble after losing both the openers and Alex Hales. But the man in form Rilee Rossouw did the repairing and dragged back Rangpur into the game. Taskin Ahmed, who has been taking wickets since the start of the tournament has done the trick once again and removed the well-set Rossouw for 58 runs. Mohammad Mithun played a cameo of 35 from 29 before falling to Taskin. Skipper Mashrafe also promoted himself and played an unbeaten knock of 33 from 27. But it wasn't enough as the hosts pulled off a comfortable victory by 27 runs to register their first win at home. Brief score: SS 187/5 (20 ov) | Liton 70, Warner 61* | Shafiul 3/31 RR 160/6 (20 ov) | Rossouw 58, Mithun 35 | Taskin 2/34 RESULT: Sylhet Sixers won by 27 runs
