Sri Lanka's wicket-keeper batsman Niroshan Dickwella and all-rounder Thisara Perera have sought permission to play in the Caribbean Premier League Cricket CPL T20 to run between September 4 and October 12.

Interestingly, both are in contention for the forthcoming

Dickwella, Perera along with few other Sri Lankan players, who are not "too keen" to travel to Pakistan, it is learnt here.
Lasith Malinga is also named in the same CPL team, but he is named to be the captain for the T-20 Internationals against visiting
team.
Perera may be given a permission for the CPL but with the condition that he would return if his services are needed by the SLC.
He was named captain on last Pakistan tour in October 2017.
On completion of the current series against New Zealand, SLC will sit with the players and try to convince them for the Pak. tour. May be the Hon. sports minister Harin Fernando may get involved in the discussions.
Current coaching staff including Rumesh Ratnayake will be willing to go to Pakistan and if Mickey Arthur (head coach) and Grant Flower (batting coach) are hired (as they are already in negotiations) by the SLC, the task would be little easier.

However, Panish Shetty, a very efficient Indian Computer Analyst, attached with the national Sri Lankan team may get issues in getting the Pakistan visa. In that case, SLC will force to send a local man for this tour.
