South Africa dismantled Afghanistan for a paltry 56 runs in the first semi-final of ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 on Thursday (27th June) at Brian Lara Cricket Stadium, Trinidad. Marco Jansen and other pacers ran riot through the Afghan's batting lineup to bundle them out for a measly 56 runs.

South Africa need just 57 to reach to the final of ICC Men's T20 World Cup. 
Afghanistan crumbled infront of a quality protea attack and under such pressure. Marco Jansen started it by removing Rahmanullah Gurbaz for a 3 ball duck, he then had Gulbadin Naib. Rabada removed Ibrahim Zadran and Afghanistan were succumbing to pressure.

The pitch was slow and ball was coming low, which made things tough for Afghanistan and they couldn’t soak the pressure. Azmatullah Omarzai's 10 off 12 deliveries is their highest individual score in the match, Rashid Khan scored 8 and then Karim Janat made 8 which came as second and third highest individual scores.

It was a fast bowling masterclass by South Africa, dismantling the top - middle and lower order in blink of eyes and restricting Afghanistan to a below par total. Marco Jansen and Tabraiz Shamsi were the standout bowlers as both shared 3 wickets each, while Rabada and Anrich Nortje had 2 wickets each.
