India's experienced campaigner Ravichandran Ashwin has shared a special moment from Team India's recent T20 World Cup 2024 victory in Barbados. Despite being on the receiving end while defending the total, the Men in Blue, somehow, found a way to turn it around.
Indian players lifting Rahul Dravid after winning the T20 World Cup in BarbadosRohit Sharma & Co. won the showdown by 7 runs to end the ICC title drought. This is India's second T20 World Cup title triumph, in what was a sight to behold.
Meanwhile, the Indian off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin, while speaking on his YouTube channel, Ashwin said, "My moment was When Virat Kohli called Rahul Dravid and gave the cup… I saw him hug the cup and cry. Rahul Dravid screamed and cried. I saw him enjoy it. I felt that a lot."
Rahul Dravid couldn't be any happier as he won his first World Cup as a senior coach. The Indian batting great never won a World Cup as a player but will be pretty much happy about how things have gone for him in his coaching career.
For the record, under Rahul Dravid's tutelage, India won the 2018 U-19 World Cup by defeating Australia in the title clash. “I want to talk about a person who is sacred. 2007, 50-over World Cup. India gets knocked out. Rahul Dravid, the captain at that point in time. He does not captain the one-day side after that. He has been with the Indian team. If something does not go well, if the Indian team goes out, if they lose a match, immediately, they ask what Dravid is doing,” said Ashwin.
“I know what he has been doing with this team for the past two-three years. I know how balanced he has been. I know how hard he has worked to change this approach. I know what he has given each of his players. Even when he is just sitting at home, he has been planning how to do this and that," the veteran off-sponner concluded.
