Gujarat Titans beat the Rajasthan Royals by 58 runs in Ahmedabad on Wednesday in the Indian Premier League (IPL), thanks to great play from everyone on the team. They now have the most points in the IPL 2025.  Sai Sudharsan's fast 82-run knock set the tone for Gujarat's huge score of 217/6, which was too much for Sanju Samson's team, who were bowled out for just 159.

Rajasthan won the toss at the Narendra Modi Stadium and chose to field first.  Gujarat didn't get off to the best of starts; they lost captain Shubman Gill early for only two runs.  But Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler worked together to make a steady pair that became more aggressive as the powerplay went on.  Gujarat was 56/1 after 6 overs.

Sudharsan was in charge because he hit the ball hard and chose his shots well.  Buttler missed his fifty, leaving for 36 off 25 balls, but Shahrukh Khan helped Sudharsan keep going. Khan hit 36 off just 20 balls.  Sudharsan scored 82 off 53 balls, just short of a hundred and the game-winning run.  Rahul Tewatia (24* off 12) and Rashid Khan (12 off 4) scored late runs that made Gujarat's score 217/6 look scary.

Two bowlers from Rajasthan, Tushar Deshpande and Maheesh Theekshana, each took two wickets. Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma each took one.

Rajasthan Royals got off to a terrible start in their chase, losing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana for very little in the first two overs.  Captain Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag tried to fix things by scoring 57 runs during the power play.  But Parag was out for 26, and wickets kept falling at regular times.

Shimron Hetmyer's powerful 52 off 32 balls gave them some hope, but they didn't get any help from the other end.  It was too much for Hetmyer to do because Sanju Samson (41 off 28) was out before he got to fifty.

In the end, Rajasthan Royals were bowled out for 159, which was a lot less than the target.

Gujarat's bowling team did a great job of carrying out their plans.  With three wickets, Prasidh Krishna led the way. Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore each got two.
