The Pakistan cricket team held its first training session in India at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday morning. This was her first training session since arriving in India for the 2023 ICC World Cup.

The majority of the team actively participated in the training session, including key players such as captain Babar Azam as well as Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Salman Ali Agha, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Wasim Junior, Mohammad Haris, and Zaman Khan.

During the training session, the players began with warm-up exercises and fielding drills at the stadium premises, after which they moved to the practice nets for batting and bowling sessions.

As they prepare for the upcoming tournament, Pakistan will face New Zealand in a warm-up match scheduled for Friday in Hyderabad.

The Pakistan team will begin their journey in this World Cup with a match against Netherlands on October 6.

Earlier, Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam asked cricket fans for prayers and best wishes for the national cricket team's departure for the coveted crown.

Speaking to the media before leaving for India, Azam said that the national team has worked hard and the recent experience in the Asia Cup will help them give their best during the cup.

Replying to a question, he said preparatory training for the World Cup was not conducted as it was a week after the Asia Cup and players needed rest to prevent fatigue.

He denied reports of the pressure on the team during the India game and said the players would attract the attention of fans through good play.
