Pakistan has released their starting XI for Thursday's Asia Cup 2023 Super Four do-or-die match against Sri Lanka in Colombo. There are assumptions that the massive loss to India has prompted as many as five changes to the Men in Green's playing XI.

Two pacers Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf are not in the XI due to injuries. Instead, Zaman Khan and Mohammad Wasim Jr got a place in the XI. Zaman has arrived in Colombo and has joined the team. He arrived early today. In the 50-over format, he will make his first appearance on the international stage. Naseem's Asia Cup ended with a shoulder injury. Rauf is still under the observation of doctors.

Changes have been also made in the opening. Pakistan has dropped Fakhar Zaman from the team and replaced him with Mohammad Haris at the top of the order due to Fakhar’s poor recent performance (average of less than 21 and strike rate of less than 80 in the past 10 matches).

Apart from this, another out-of-form all-rounder Agha Salman has also been dropped from the XI. Saud Shakeel will play instead of him in the match against the Lankans. Pace-bowling all-rounder Faheem Ashraf will be replaced by spinner Mohammad Nawaz.

Tomorrow, September 14, the match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan will start at 3:30 PM Bangladesh time. The team that wins this match will play the final against India. If the match is washed away by rain, Sri Lanka will go to the final.
