New Chief Selector Lipu went to BCB today (February 23) to pay a courtesy call. However, there was no formal discussion. Everything will happen after taking charge officially from March 1.
At the end of the discussion, Lipu told the media, “Nothing much. Like a familiar episode. What else is watching a match and drinking tea? Getting acquainted with him was not that familiar before.”
Lipu added, “I will take charge from 1 (March), any formal discussion will take place after that. Let's see, we will go to watch the game. May be in Sylhet or maybe before the series. It cannot be said for sure now.”
Regarding the new coaches, Lipu commented, “I have no authority to say anything about who the new coaches will be. I don't want to say anything. But if my opinion is asked, I will give my opinion which is good for the development of Bangladesh cricket. But there is a separate department for appointing new coaches, they are qualified enough. They will make good decisions for the country's cricket.”
The new selection panel led by Lipu will take charge from March 1.
