Mohammedan Sporting Club’s dreams of winning the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) title stayed alive with an exciting last-ball win over Gazi Group Cricketers in the Super League phase at Mirpur.  Even though Mohammad Saifuddin was voted Player of the Match for his great showing all around, it was Nasum Ahmed's amazing finish in the last over that stole the show.

Gazi Group scored 236 runs when they came up to bat first.  Munim Shahriar scored an impressive 80 runs off 82 balls.  Sheikh Parvez Jibon scored 33 runs, and Tahjibul Islam scored 32.  Mustafizur Rahman, Mohammad Saifuddin, and Nabil Samad all took three wickets for Mohammedan.

Chasing 237, Mohammedan had some early problems.  Anisul Islam Emon and Tawfique Khan Tushar were dismissed early.  Rony Talukdar, who batted first, kept the game steady with a 55-run knock off 83 balls. Towhid Hridoy, who was captain, added 37 runs slowly over 54 balls.

Near the end of the game, things were still very tense. Mahmudullah Riyad scored a tough 49 off 62 balls, and Saifuddin was still unbeaten on 30 off 55 deliveries.  In the end, 11 runs had to be scored off the last 4 balls.

When things got tough, Nasum Ahmed stepped up and changed the game by hitting 21 off of just 13 balls.  After hitting a four and two huge sixes, he sealed the win with a single off the last ball.

Shamim Miah and Wasi Siddiquee both took four wickets for Gazi Group, but they couldn't stop the loss.
