Batting first, Abahani posted the highest total in this year’s Dhaka Premier League (DPL). They scored 193 runs in the stipulated 20 overs losing 7 wickets. Inform opener Munim Shahriar and captain Mushfiqur Rahim again stole the show as Munim scored 43 runs off 27 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes while the latter remained unbeaten on 57 runs off just 32 balls. Mushfiqur struck 8 fours and a six. Najmul Hossain Shanto (27), Mohammad Naim (24) also helped with two little innings. Ruyel Miah and Asif Hasan took 3 wickets apiece. Shakib Al Hasan-less Mohammedan were clueless in the chasing from the start of their innings. They lost wickets at regular intervals and at one stage they were at 42/6. Then Mahmudul Hasan and Abu Hider put on a 78-run partnership which helped Mohammedan to cross 100-run mark and reduced the margin of defeat. Mahmudul scored 36 runs and Abu Hider picked up his half-century. He remained unbeaten on 53 runs off 42 balls smashing 5 fours and 2 sixes. Mohammad Saifuddin and Mosaddek Hossain bagged two wickets each. Brief scores: Abahani Limited 193/7 in 20 overs (Mushfiqur 57*, Munim 43; Ruyel 3/19, Asif 3/47) Mohammedan Sporting Club 133/7 in 20 overs (Abu Hider 53*, Mahmudul 36; Mosaddek 2/14, Saifuddin 2/34) Abahani Limited won by 60 runs
