The match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday witnessed a scene for which no one was prepared. Hyderabad fans were so furious that they threw water bottles on the field. The match officials also stopped the game to handle the situation.

The incident started with a decision by the umpire. Hyderabad batted earlier at home. Abdul Samad was on strike in the 19th over of the innings, Avesh Khan was bowling. The third delivery of the over bowled by Avesh rose to waist height of Abdul Samad. Hyderabad opted for DRS as the umpire didn’t call it a no ball. It was also seen that the ball went over Samad's waist.

But the third umpire did not signal a no ball, he also stood by the decision of legal delivery. Then Heinrich Klaasen, another Hyderabad batter at the crease, got angry. He got into an argument with the umpire on the field. And its heat spread in the gallery.

Angry spectators threw bottles at the Lucknow Super Giants dugout. At that time, team mentor Gautam Gambhir along with some Lucknow players and coaches entered the field in anger. They complained to the umpires about the violent behavior of the spectators. The audience was still not calm. Apart from bottles, other objects were being thrown towards the Lucknow dugout. Instead, the supporters got into a fight with Lucknow's coach Andy Flower.

The umpires were forced to stop the game for some time. After a few minutes of delay, the game finally started. But no one could accept such behavior of host visitors.

Hyderabad cricketer Klaasen himself criticized the spectators. After that incident, Hyderabad managed to get only 12 runs from 9 balls, the dot balls were five in a row. Klaasen claimed that the team lost its momentum due to such behavior of the spectators.

He said, “Disappointed of the crowd to be honest, that's not what you want. That also broke the momentum, not great umpiring either.”
