Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) speedster Mitchell Starc shed light on his rivalry with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Travis Head. The left-arm paceman who holds a truckload of experience to his resume has ruffled Travis Head's feathers quite a few times not this in this season's IPL but in Australia's domestic cricket as well.
Mitchell StarcTravis Head literally found it tough to negate Starc's bowling attack in the first place. Recent statistics between the duo reveal that Starc has just outsmarted Head like a hot knife through butter, dismissing him for a duck four times. Their most recent meeting came in the Qualifier 1 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Travis Head was dismissed in his second delivery off Mitchell Starc. Head failed to open his account as Starc made a total mess of the batter's stumps. Since 2015, Starc has dismissed Head five times (twice in One-Day Cup, twice in Sheffield Shield and once in IPL).
Talking about his rivalry with Head, Starc, during the mid-match show between KKR and SRH said, "I might keep that one in the back pocket for when he starts to give me some niggle and I have to pull it out on him. He's been phenomenal through the tournament. But we knew he was going to be a big wicket."
"We know the powerplay wickets are very important. The way Sunrisers take on the powerplay, they have sort of matched us throughout the season in terms of getting off to good starts. It was great to get powerplay wickets and I think our bowling group was fantastic throughout," Starc told Star Sports.
