Lucknow Super Giants pacer Yash Thakur did a splendid job with the ball against Gujarat Titans, picking up the first fifer of this edition of the Indian Premier League.

The 25-year-old pacer removed Shubman Gill, Vijay Shankar, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed while defending a total of 163 runs. He was named Player of the Match for his fabulous stints with the ball and is expected to do a lot for Lucknow Super Giants in the upcoming games.

During the post-match conference, Yash Thakur shared a lot and said, "Once Mayank went, Rahul sir told me that this could be my day and that I could win the game for the side. He told me to back myself and told me to back the controllable instead of worrying about what I can't control."

"Very few can bowl at the speeds that he (Mayank Yadav) does, it is a God-given gift. I know my limitations and my strengths. I just back my strengths. My focus this season is to have clarity in my plans. I've tried to keep things simple instead of thinking too many things at a time. I've tried to only focus on the things that I can control," he added.

The 30-year-old has been featured in 83 games in the shortest format where he scalped 106 wickets at an average of well below 20.

Hence, he will be expected to do something for Delhi Capitals as their bowling unit is not up to the mark. They continuously leaked runs in their previous encounters and have to work a lot to stay alive in this prestigious tournament.
