In the IPL 2025 season opener Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) all-rounder Krunal Pandya impressed everyone with his bowling skills. Taking on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens Krunal bowled a brilliant spell, finishing with figures of 3 for 29 from his four overs.

One of the standout moments of the match came when Venkatesh Iyer came to the crease without a helmet. Seeing this Pandya decided to challenge him with a vicious bouncer. The first delivery of the 13th over surprised both Iyer and RCB wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma. Iyer quickly called for a helmet after dodging the bouncer but Pandya wasn’t done.

Once Iyer got his helmet Pandya bowled a flatter delivery which Iyer tried to work on the on-side. However he ended up dragging it onto his stumps losing his wicket. Pandya’s key breakthrough helped RCB pile on the pressure further contributing to KKR’s collapse.

RCB’s spinners led by Krunal played a massive role in slowing down KKR's progress. As the match continued Suyash Sharma, Yash Dayal, and Josh Hazlewood also stepped up, reducing KKR to 174/8 at the end of their innings. The total seemed below par and RCB would have been confident of chasing down the target given their strong batting lineup.
