England have won the previous edition of T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
The biggest surprise is Jofra Archer, who has recovered from his right elbow injury. Archer’s last appearance at this level came over a year ago in England’s tour of Bangladesh in March 2023. Left-arm spinning all-rounder Tom Hartley is the sole uncapped player in the squad. Hartley, who shot to prominence earlier this year with 22 wickets against India in his maiden Test series, has been handed the second frontline spinner's berth ahead of Rehan Ahmed.
The selectors have stated selected players currently out in the IPL will return in time for the series against Pakistan, which begins at Headingley on May 22. The group will then fly to the Caribbean on May 31. England face Scotland in their opening group match in Barbados on June 4. England have got their arch-rivals Australia, Scotland, Namibia and Oman in the group B.
