Bangladesh star pacer Taskin Ahmed has got a team in Zim Afro T10 League. Bulawayo Braves have roped in the Tiger pacer from the players’ draft of the tournament on Monday (July 3). Their first pick was Taskin Ahmed in the draft.
This is the first time that the Zim Afro T10 League is going to be organized on the field. Five teams will participate in the tournament- Harare Hurricanes, Joburg Buffaloes, Durban Qalandars, Bulawayo Braves and Cape Town Samp Army.
Bangladesh's Mushfiqur Rahim joined Joburg Buffaloes in a direct signing before the draft. Bulawayo Braves took Taskin to the team this time. Although it is not sure if he will play. Because even though he had the opportunity to play in franchise tournaments like IPL, PSL many times before, he did not play because of the national team commitment.
The tournament will run from July 20 to July 29 in Harare. The players’ draft was held today. From there, Taskin was picked up by Bulawayo Braves. He has been a consistent performer for the national team for a long time. The pacer has spread light in the last two T20 World Cups. He caught the attention of the whole world with his excellent bowling and getting opportunities in various franchise leagues may be the result of that.
Taskin Ahmed is currently busy with Afghanistan series at home. The three-match ODI series will start from July 5. After playing three ODIs on July 5, 7, and 10, Bangladesh will play two T20I matches against Afghanistan on July 14 and 16.
