The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to deny No Objection Certificates (NOC) to Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan for the upcoming Global T20 (GT20) League Canada.

Pakistan players Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan suffered a major setback as they are unlikely to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to take part in the Global T20 Canada.

According to the sources, the trio will not get an NOC despite the Canadian league being scheduled from July 25 to August 11.

The tournament is scheduled to start on July 25th and run until August 11th. Although it does not conflict with Pakistan's international affairs, the PCB is unlikely to issue an NOC as it has a policy of denying certification to players of all formats.

According to reports, the PCB is not in favor of players participating in the league due to their busy schedules. Pakistan's next assignment will be a two-match Test series against Bangladesh at home starting August 21. Recently, Pakistan board NOC also denied fast bowler Naseem Shah from participating in the fourth season of The Hundred in England.

However, according to the sources, the Global T20 Canada has not yet received approval from the International Cricket Council (ICC) due to several issues.

They added that the players' NOC will only be officially determined after approval from the league.

Pacer Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Nawaz, Asif Ali and Iftikhar Ahmed also have Global T20 Canada contracts.

Earlier this week, the PCB announced that it would work out a technical process to issue NOC to players and those who met the requirements would be given the NOC.

“Players are promoted based on their fitness and performance. There is no place for players who do not meet the criteria. There will be no compromise on discipline either,” PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi said.
