It is the latest in a long line of social, cultural, and political causes championed by the polarizing team led by climate fighter Pat Cummins.

The Australian men's Test team will take a knee in support of anti-racism for the first time in a home series against West Indies, which begins on Wednesday in Perth.
It is the latest in a long line of social, cultural, and political causes championed by the polarizing team led by climate fighter Pat Cummins.
Typically, a team will take a knee when an opponent does so as a sign of support and respect; however, considering that the West Indies have frequently taken a knee in protest of racism, the Australian men will do the same. It will be the first time that an Australian men's Test team kneels during a home series.
“We've consulted with the West Indies team, who confirmed they will be taking a knee,” a Cricket Australia (CA) spokesperson told The Age.
“As we've done in the West Indies and during the recent warm-up games we will support the West Indies team and take a knee alongside them.”
Cummins had 'ethical objections' to Cricket Australia's $40 million contract with energy provider Alinta, despite having been in many advertisements for the company and having links with similarly climate-damaging businesses.
Shortly after it was stated that the lucrative agreement would only continue for one more year, a $40 million funding gap was discovered; nonetheless, CEO Nick Hockley continues to deny Cummins' involvement.
