Cricket Australia (CA) announced the preliminary 18-member squad for the ODI World Cup just over a month ago. This time that squad has been brought to a 15-member squad. And again, Marnus Labuschagne has no place in the squad.

Australia will play ODI series against India and South Africa before the World Cup. The 18-member squad for these two series has already been announced. It was then announced that this would be Australia's World Cup squad, but it would be reduced to 15 by dropping three. Finally the squad of those 15 teams has been finalised.

No one was brought in from outside the 18-man squad. There are Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith who are currently out of the team due to injury, are in the squad as expected. Australia is hoping that they will be fully recovered before the World Cup.

The ODI series will be between South Africa and Australia from September 7 to September 17. Then, the Aussies will go straight to India, the venue of the World Cup, after finishing that series. They will play three ODIs there before the World Cup. After the series ends on September 27, Australia's World Cup mission will begin on October 8 against India, which will be played in Chennai.
