Australia in commanding position after day one in Lords test. They added 337 runs losing 5 wickets. Travis Head, David Warner and Steve Smith got fifties and that helped Australia have a massive total after day 1.

Earlier the day, England won the toss and chose to bowl first on a cloudy conditions assuming to come up stronger against Australia. But the plan didn’t come true as Aussie openers were too good. Usman Khawaja and David Warner played the new ball properly and added 73 runs at the opening stand, bulk of the scoring has been from Warner though. It took two fantastic inswinger from Josh Tongue to sent back both of the openers.

The Smith and Labuschagne duo played fantastically and punished every bad balls ignoring the good ones. Labuschagne nicked off to Ollie Robinson for his 47. After the departure of Labuschagne, Travis Head came with all guns blazing and kept smacking the English bowlers for fun. He raced to his 50 off only 54 balls and made a serious knock of 77 off only 73 before gifting his wicket to Root. Cameron Green got a duck and Australia fell to 316. But Alex Carey and Steve Smith negotiated the final half and hour properly.

Smith is on 85*, while Carey is on 11*. And Australia will be eyeing to score more than 450 as both them still on the crease. On the contrary, England will try to pick up one or two in the morning session of tomorrow to comeback in the match.
