South Africa crushed Sri Lanka by 102 runs. Hundreds from Aiden Markram, Quinton De Kock and Van Der Dussen helped them post an indomitable 428 on the board. In reply, Sri Lanka faltered to chase and could manage to accumulate only 326 and hence they lost the match by 102 runs.

Aiden Markram broke the record of Irish superstar Kevin O'Brien's fastest hundred in World Cup record. He surpassed him and now hold the record of quickest centurion in World Cup history [49 balls].

Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bowl first. After being put into bat first, South Africa lost their skipper and opener Temba Bavuma. Quinton De Kock and Rassie Van Der Dussen had an excellent partnership together. With De Kock made 100 off just 84 balls and Van Der Dussen scored 116 off Balls before falling to 2 Wellalage.

Then Aiden Markram cane and he played
a fantastic 106 off only 54 balls with a jaw dropping strike rate of 196.3. David Miller gave them a solid finish touch as he raced to 39 off just 21 balls. Pakistan could manage the most number of rain in a World Cup match. South Africa managed to break the previous records and set a new target of Triseminal 428 on the board.

In reply, Sri Lanka lost their opener Pathum Nissanka in the jusr 3 balls of the innings. Marco Jansen's pace picked up the wickets of Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera. But Kusal Mendis had other plans. He went absolutely berserk and smashed 8 sixes in his innings. He made a swashbuckling 76 off only 42 balls before falling to Kagiso Rabada.

Sadeera Samawickrama made 23 off 19 balls. Charith Asalanka fought hard and made a serious 79 off 65 deliveries and skipper Dasun Shanaka found the groove with the bat as he scored a fantastic fifty. He made 68 off 62 balls. However they got starts but couldn’t finish things off and South Africa kept chipping away with wickdts at regular intervals and hence they bundled Sri Lanka out for 326 and won the match by 102 runs.
