South Zone are leading Central Zone by 203 runs after the end of the second day of the five-day Bangladesh Cricket League final at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.

Mohammad Mithun scored a ton after his side were 16/4 

South Zone's wicketkeeper-batter Zakir Ali has struck his third hundred in the tournament, his fourth in last five first-class innings. Central's Mohammad Mithun also reached the three-figure milestone after a disastrous start.  

Having been asked to bat first, South Zone put on 387 in 111.3 overs. Their openers Pinak Ghosh (65) and Anamul Haque (76) provided a dominating start in a 137-run partnership. Hasan Murad struck back with five wickets in the innings, followed by Shuvagata Hom's late three-fer.

Zakir and his captain Farhad Reza slammed 119 runs for the sixth wicket. Reza played a swashbuckling knock of 71 runs off 67 balls, hitting 9 fours and 3 sixes, while Zakir remained unbeaten on 107 in 161 balls.

After hitting it out with the bat, Reza wreck havoc to Central Zone's batting order as he brought down four batters at team score of only 16 runs.

Mithun, who earlier made 176 in the tournament opener against North Zone, brought up his 14th hundred with the captain Shuvagata staying unbeaten at the other end. Both took Central Zone to 184 for 4 at stumps.

Mithun hit 16 fours and a six in his 102* off 155. Shuvagata took a watchful approach in his 135-ball 67*.
