Former Indian national cricketer Yograj Singh known for his outspoken takes has made yet another bold claim this time involving Arjun Tendulkar the son of Indian legendary Sachin Tendulkar. Yograj believes that if Arjun is mentored by his son Yuvraj Singh he can transform into “the next Chris Gayle.”

Yograj who trained Arjun for two years when the youngster moved from Mumbai to Goa feels the left-hander’s true potential lies with the bat. Speaking about Arjun’s journey Yograj said:
"With regards to Arjun, I said, focus less on his bowling and more on his batting. But if Yuvraj – he and Sachin are so close – takes Sachin's son under his wings for three months, I bet he will become the next Chris Gayle."
He added that often fast bowlers who suffer from stress fractures struggle to maintain the same intensity. Hence he believes Arjun should seriously consider switching focus to his batting.
After limited chances with Mumbai Arjun moved to Goa in search of more opportunities and made an immediate mark by scoring a century on his Ranji Trophy debut. However his batting returns have since been modest.
Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25: 40 runs in 2 innings, 4 wickets in 3 matches
Ranji Trophy 2024-25: 51 runs in 3 innings, 16 wickets in 4 matches at an average of 18.18
Arjun is currently part of the Mumbai Indians squad in IPL 2025 having been bought for INR 30 lakh. While he’s yet to feature prominently the young all-rounder would be eager to grab any opportunity that comes his way.
