ICC World Test Championship Final is currently underway at Southampton amidst challenges from mother nature. The first and fourth days were called off due to heavy rain there. Thankfully, there was some play on the remaining three days.
Now it is also set for exciting passages of play on the reserve day with India are playing their second innings. At the end of the fifth day, India were 64/2, leading by 32 runs. It looks like good weather conditions at Southampton on the reserve day, hoping to get play without any overs left.
Meanwhile, a racial abuse complaint was reported on the fifth day. Two fans were vacated from Ageas Bowl, after racial abuse on New Zealand players. The fans were in Block M, which is just below the hotel where the players and families are residing.
"We received reports of abuse directed at the New Zealand players," the ICC quoted in a media statement. "Our security team were able to identify the culprits and they were ejected from the ground. We will not tolerate any sort of abusive behaviour in cricket."
The players weren't much aware of the issue according to the words from Tim Southee. "No, it's the first I've heard of it," Southee said after play. "The game is always played in a good spirit on the field. We're not sure obviously what's happening off the field."
