The 14th edition of IPL will start in April which could stretch to early June. New Zealand have dates fixed for two Test matches at Lord's and Edgbaston against England starting from June 2 and 10 respectively. The fixtures for IPL 2021 are yet to be released but there is a possibility of a clash which might see IPL players of both nations opting out of the international series. "It's certainly not the preferred thing. I know when plans were put in place that wasn't the idea then, but as we've seen, you can make plans in this day in age and very rarely do they go to plan," Williamson said ahead of a five-match T20I series against Australia on home soil. "For us it's being able to adapt as quickly as possible, we still have to wait and see when dates are finalised to truly know what is happening before any decision is made but the ideal scenario is to be available and around for all that cricket. We'll just have to wait and see." Williamson will be joined by other Kiwis - Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson, Tom Seifert, Mitchell Santner, Jimmy Neesham, Kyle Jamieson and Adam Milne. Reports claim that the IPL-bound cricketers may opt to miss part of Bangladesh series, whom the Blackcaps will play three ODIs and as many T20Is, to avoid quarantine troubles in India. New Zealand Cricket (NZC) said that it would take 'pragmatic approach' if the event of any clash. New Zealand, who have already qualified for the World Test Championship final at Lord's scheduled on June 18-22, could not have had better preparation than playing two Tests in England prior to it.
