Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently weighed in on the historic India-Pakistan cricket rivalry during a podcast interview with American researcher Lex Fridman. Reflecting on Rohit Sharma-led India National Cricket Team victory over Pakistan National Cricket Team in the group stage of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy where Virat Kohli’s unbeaten century steered the team to a six-wicket win, Modi emphasized the power of sports in uniting people across borders.

When asked to choose the better team between India and Pakistan, PM Modi took a humble approach, saying he isn't a cricket expert, but the recent results favor India.
“Now, coming to the question of who’s better and who’s not, when it comes to techniques in sports, I’m not an expert. “Just a few days ago, India and Pakistan played a match. The result reveals which is the better team. That’s how we know,” the PM stressed.
The Men's in Blue victory not only secured their dominance over their archrival but also led to Mohammad Rizwan-led Pakistan National Cricket Team exit from the tournament.
