Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Naveen-ul-Haq said after their heavy defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) that they planned against Sunil Narine and they tried their best but nothing worked in the match.

In the match yesterday, batting first, KKR scored 235 runs for 6 wickets, with 81 runs from Sunil Narine off of 39 balls being the main contributor. The KKR openers, Narine and Phil Salt, scored 60 runs in only four overs. In reply, LSG surrendered easily as they bundled out for just 137 runs and lost the match by 98 runs.

"We planned against Narine. We wanted to mix it up with bouncers and yorkers but nothing worked against him. It was quite a brilliant innings, to be honest. He was properly middling it. He has been doing it from the start of the season," Naveen said at the post-match press conference.

Pacer lamented home team batting collapse and hailed Lucknow pitch as best batting track thus far. "The amount of games that we have played in Lucknow, I think this was the best wicket to bat on. We did not do the things in the chase that we did - say in the game at Chepauk, where the target was very high. It was not like bad or anything, there was nothing for the bowlers," Naveen added.
