The IPL 2025 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium turned dramatic not just for the big hits but also for a fiery on-field altercation between Travis Head and Glenn Maxwell, two of Australia National Cricket Team top T20 stars.

The incident occurred in the 9th over of SRH’s innings when Head launched Glenn Maxwell for two consecutive sixes. Tensions rose when the left-hander went for another aggressive shot miscuing a pull that went straight back to Maxwell. The Aussie all-rounder clearly frustrated hurled a sharp throw back toward the keeper.

Head wasn’t one to back down and immediately returned fire with a few words. The two locked eyes and exchanged a tense verbal volley that caught the attention of everyone on the field. The situation escalated quickly prompting Marcus Stoinis and the umpires to step in and calm things down.

Batting first, PBKS posted a strong 214/5, In reply Travis Head blasted a quickfire 66 off 37 balls before falling to Yuzvendra Chahal with Maxwell ironically taking the catch. But the star of the night was Abhishek Sharma who powered SRH home with a sensational 141 scripting one of the most memorable chases in IPL history.
