Australia’s middle-order batter, Travis Head, confirmed that his recent feud with Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj has been resolved following the pink-ball Test on Sunday, December 8. Head, who played a key role in Australia’s victory by scoring 140 off 141 balls, was involved in a heated exchange with Siraj on Day 2 of the Test. However, the incident, which captured much attention, has now been put to rest.
Speaking to ABC Sport, Travis Head shared that Siraj took the initiative to settle their differences, clarifying that the altercation stemmed from a misunderstanding. Head admitted that he could have handled the situation better but emphasized that both players have decided to move forward.
"Sweet with it. He came out and just said [it was] a little bit of misunderstanding … I think we'll move on. We've had a great week, so let's not let it ruin it," Head said.
"It was fine. He said, 'Why'd you swear?' I sort of said, 'Look, I didn't at first … [but] I definitely swore at you the second time round. I probably could have laughed it off and walked off and enjoyed myself. He just said it was a misunderstanding as well, and there was no issues for me. We move on. I'm sweet. It is what it is,” he added.
The on-field exchange between Head and Siraj added an extra layer of intensity to the match, but both players are now ready to focus on the remainder of the series. The series currently level at 1-1.
