Van Beek's all rounder super over masterclass crushes down Windies in a thriller
Van Beek smacked Holder for 30 in the super over and also defended the score to win a thriller against WI in ICC CWC Qualifiers 2023.

Netherlands won by superover
Netherlands won a thriller against Windies which went down to the wire in ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 on 26th June (Monday).
Earlier the day winning the toss Netherlands opted to bowl first. WI started off to a flier. Courtesy to their explosive openers, Johnson Charles and Brandon King. They added 101 runs at the opening stand inside only 17 overs. However, Kingma trapped Charles for LBW for his own 54 off 55, Brandon King made 76 off 81 deliveries. Skipper Shai Hope was seemed to be quick and made a fluent 47 off 38. But it was the innings from Nicholas Pooran who stood high and smacked everyone that came infront of him. He made a swashbuckling 104 off only 65 deliveries. He went for 9 boundaries and 6 massive sixes. At the end, Keemo Paul's quick-fire cameo of 46 off only 25 deliveries took WI to a massive total of 374-6 after alloted 50 overs.
Chasing the total, Netherlands had a brisk start. Courtesy their openers as they added 76 inside 10 overs which gave them a massive boost up. After the departure of their openers, Teja Nidamanuru and skipper Scott Edwards stitched a brilliant partnership of 203 runs where Teja Nidamanuru notched up his hundred and made a glorious 111 off only 76 balls and Edwards raced to 67 off only 47 deliveries with a jaw dropping strike rate of 142.55.
While after the departure of these two it was quite impossible to chase this down but Aryan Dutt out of nowhere smacked Roston Chase in the 49th over and took 21 runs which reduced the deficit to 9 and Netherlands needed 9 off the last over to win.
Alzarri Joseph conceded a boundary in the first ball, then got the wicket and Netherlands needed 1 off last one delivery to win and Joseph got the wicket of Van Beek and the match was drawn.
In the super over, Van Beek got chance to bat and Holder with the ball. Beek smacked a boundary in the first ball, then a massive six in the second and eventually thus loop happened throughout the over and Netherlands took 30 off the last over.
Chasing 31, WI batter Charles hit a six off the first ball and then took a single which left WI need 24 off the last 4 balls to win. In the 3rd ball that was a dot and WI needed 24 off the last 3. And eventually they lost the game.
