Unprofessional, unacceptable at this level: Gavaskar lashes out at on Siraj

While Pakistan were chasing a target score in the 17th over of their second innings, Mohammed Siraj bowled his fourth and last over, giving India a small fright as well. Even a single slip-up could have cost Pakistan the match, as they needed just 30 runs to win. However, Sunil Gavaskar was not pleased when Siraj proceeded to deliver a no-ball in that very situation.

In a nail-biting match in New York, Team India stunned Pakistan with a six-run victory. The Indian bowlers staged a remarkable recovery, limiting their opponents to 113/7 in 20 overs, to secure a second consecutive victory in the competition, even though they were bowled out for 119 with one over remaining.

Pakistan got off to a solid start, reaching 57/1 at the halfway point, but they lost control when bowlers Jasprit Bumrah (3/14), Hardik Pandya (2/24), and Axar Patel (1/11) produced outstanding efforts, leading to an unprecedented Indian comeback. The top run-scorer for India was Rishabh Pant (42).

Pakistan's aspirations were dashed when Bumrah, the tournament's player of the match, removed Mohammad Rizwan in the 15th over.

Siraj's overreach caused the former India captain, who was on broadcast at the time, to lose his temper.

"Unforgivable. Professional cricketers, whatever you are, you cannot bowl a no-ball. It is in your control. Wide balls are not always in your control but no-ball is. Unprofessional, unacceptable at this level. No excuses whatsoever," Gavaskar said on air.

The bowlers Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya each took one wicket, while Siraj was the only one of the four to finish his allotted overs without taking a wicket.

In their last two group matches, India will face co-hosts Canada and the United States, following their 6–0 victory over Pakistan at New York's Nassau County Stadium. Both the U.S. match and the Canadian match will be played in Central Broward Regional Park in Florida on June 12 and 15, respectively.

It would not be surprising if India maintains their perfect record in the group stages, given their current form.
