Star batter Towhid Hridoy got a new ban just as Mohammedan Sporting Club needed him the most. This means he can't play in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) title-deciding game against arch-rivals Abahani Limited.  Hridoy is now facing a new ban for his behaviour during a recent match. His previous suspension was delayed after a lot of appeals and drama.

Hridoy got into trouble when he didn't agree with the umpire after being out of the game against Gazi Group Cricketers.  After being called in for a disciplinary hearing, Hridoy did not show up, so the match officials had to give him harsh punishments.

The fine for Hridoy is BDT 10,000, and he has now earned another demerit point, 8 points in total.  The Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) rule of conduct says that if you get eight penalty points, you will be suspended for four matches.  Hridoy's most recent offence is against section 2.8 of the BCB's code, which says it's illegal to disagree with an umpire's decision, make rude gestures, or refuse to leave the pitch after being out. All of these things happened.

Because of this, Mohammedan will be missing their captain and best player in the important game against Abahani.  But Mohammedan just barely beat Gazi Group in a tight match with Hridoy. Now they will have to be at their best to beat a good Abahani team.

It's simple maths: if Mohammedan beats Abahani, they will win the title because they have a better head-to-head record, even though the teams will tie on points.  If Mohammedan lose, Abahani will win with a 4-point lead.
