Former Australia captain Tim Paine has announced just one change for Australia for the fourth Ashes Test at Old Trafford, which begins on Wednesday July 19.

Former Australia captain Tim Paine has predicted his starting XI for Australia in the 4th Test in Manchester. Tim Paine wants Australia to make just one change, replacing pacer Scott Boland with Josh Hazlewood.

Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood dropped in the 3rd Test between ENG and AUS at Headingley. Scott Boland was selected on his behalf. However, the right-arm pacer didn't get any wickets in the match. In addition, Boland was the only Australian bowler not to take a single wicket in both innings.

Paine said he will play with a largely unchanged side, save for Hazlewood, who replaces Boland. He explained:

“People will be easily disappointed if they expect headlines or drastic changes. Usman Khawaja, David Warner stay aside, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head at five. I'm staying with Mitchell Marsh.” Six, Alex Carey at seven, Mitch Starc at eight, Captain Patty Cummins at nine, Todd Murphy at 10 and number 11. I go back to Josh Hazlewood. So the change there is Hazlewood for Boland.”

Hazlewood, who played his only Test of the series at Lord's, took five wickets. In the 2019 Manchester Test, the right-arm seaman scored six scalps as Australia won by 185 runs on that occasion.

Interestingly, the former Australian wicketkeeper batsman also kept all-rounder Cameron Green out of the playing XI. A problem saw Cameron Green rested in the 3rd Test at Headingley.

Mitchell Marsh replaced him as a rounder and batted a century, taking two wickets in the match. Now there are doubts about who will take over the field of the two in the next duel in Manchester.

Meanwhile, the 4th test ENG vs. AUS is scheduled to start on July 19 (Wednesday). The match will take place at the Emirates Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester. Australia lead the Ashes series 2023 2-1.
