India's fast bowler Mohammed Siraj drew plaudits for his exceptional bowling performance against Sri Lanka in the all-important Asia Cup 2023 final in Colombo. The right-arm fast bowler got the ball swinging and created a lot of wicket-taking opportunities in his bowling spells.

He registered 6/21 and also bowled a maiden over in the Asia Cup 2023 final. His incredible performance helped India bundle out the Sri Lankans for 50 runs as Sri Lanka recorded their second-lowest total in ODIs.

Sri Lanka were totally taken aback by Siraj's bowling spell and they had no clue how to deal with the deliveries. In reply to Sri Lanka's target, India chased down without any fuss and won the game by 10 wickets. As a result, India won their eighth Asia Cup title, more than any other team in the history of the continental event.

Mohammed Siraj was adjudged the Player of the Match for his sensational bowling spell. He won the hearts of the cricket fraternity for his amazing gesture towards Sri Lanka groundstaff who worked extremely hard when the rains disturbed the passage of the play.

Siraj dedicated the cash prize to Sri Lanka groundsmen and stated that without them, the tournament wouldn't have been possible. "This cash prize goes to the groundsmen. This tournament wouldn't have been possible without them," Siraj said at the post-match presentation. 

"No biryani here. Have been bowling well since a long time. Was missing the edges earlier. But found them today. The wicket was seaming earlier, but there was swing today. Thought that I will bowl fuller because of the swing. When there's good bonding between fast bowlers, it's helpful for the team. I was thinking it would be great if I could stop the boundary. My best spell," he said. 

Even Indian skipper Rohit Sharma lauded Mohammed Siraj for his impressive spell. "Siraj has to be given a lot of credit. Rare for seamers to move the ball in the air and off the pitch. He's coming off age. We did everything we could have achieved as a team in this tournament."
