Indian captain Rohit Sharma couldn't be any happier after Team India's Asia Cup title triumph against Sri Lanka in the final showdown. The Men in Blue ripped through the defence of Sri Lanka's batting line-up, courtesy of Mohammed Siraj's phenomenal bowling spell of 6/21 in 7 overs.

Sri Lanka were folded for just 50 runs, their second-lowest team total in ODI history. In response, India chased down the target in 6.1 overs as they lifted their 8th Asia Cup trophy (seven in ODIs and once in T20Is). Notably, this is Rohit Sharma's second Asia Cup title win as a captain. Rohit Sharma also became the first Indian skipper to win an ODI by 10 wickets thrice, which is quite a record.

India were quite phenomenal in their approach right from the get-go. They advanced to the Super Fours by finishing second in the Group stage before beating Pakistan and Sri Lanka to cruise to the final. The Men in Blue delivered a picture-perfect performance against Sri Lanka and reaped rewards.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, at the post-match presentation, said, "Yeah was a great performance. To come out and play like that in the final shows the mental character. Great start with the ball and a clinical finish with the bat."

He further added that it was a kind of performance that the team will cherish for a long time. "I was standing in the slips, and something we take pride in - our seamers have been working really hard. Very very clear in their mind. It was good to see that. Such a performance we will cherish for a long time. I never thought it's going to do that much. Comes down to the skillset of individuals."

The Indian skipper also reserved the highest respect for Mohammed Siraj for the way he went about his business. Siraj has been phenomenal with the ball as he dismantled Sri Lanka's batting line-up by pitching the deliveries at the right line and length. "Siraj has to be given a lot of credit. Rare for seamers to move the ball in the air and off the pitch," Rohit Sharma added.
