Gujrat Titans beat Rajasthan Royals by 3 wickete on Thursday (11th April). Dual fifties from captain Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag carried Rajasthan to 196 runs. In reply, Shubman Gill's 72 and vital cameos from Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia chased down the total.
Earlier, Rajasthan had a horrible start as Jaiswal and Buttler fell without doing much damage to the scorecard. Captain Samson and Riyan Parag forged a 130 run partnership between them to steer the ship. This partnership went out on a match turning stand as this gave Rajasthan the foundation and then helped to unleash their prowess at the backend of the innings. Riyan Parag fell to Mohit Sharma on 76 off 48 balls, while Samson was unbeaten on 68* off 38 balls and Rajasthan posted 196-3 on the board.
In reply, Kuldeep Sen gave Rajasthan a rollicking start as he removed settled Sai Sudarshan, dangerous Matthew Wade and Abhinav Manohor and left GT reeling at 79-3. Captain Gill stood tall in the chase and played a glorious knock of 72 before Yuzvendra Chahal got him out.
However, Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan played cameos which turned the game to GT's side. They needed 35 off last two overs and the duo pulled off the heists with their unreal hitting.
This is Rajasthan Royals' first loss of the season, while GT stands on 6th after winning 3 matches in this season of IPL.
