Bangladesh have beaten Afghanistan by 6 wickets to clinch the T20I series on Sunday (16th July) at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet.

Winning the toss Bangladesh opted to bowl first. Taskin Ahmed set the tone for Bangladesh as he got his nemesis Rahmanullah Gurbaz in the very first over for second straight time in the T20I series. Taskin struck again and this time he picked up the wicket of dangerous Hazratullah Zazai. Nabi did see the powerplay and was eyeing for a big innings but that simply didn't happen as Nabi tried to go big on an outside off delivery of Mustafizur Rahman but ended up edging and Litton Das made no mistake. Hence Nabi went back to the pavilion after scoring 16 off 22 balls.

Ibrahim Zadran was struggling to find his hand and consumed 27 balls only to score 22 before Bangladesh skipper and the marquee all rounder Shakib Al Hasan got him. In the last over of the same over, he knocked over Najibullah's stumps and he was left in disbelief. And then there was a rain halt and that costed 98 minutes for what umpires reduced the 20 over match to 17 over each.
After the break, Azmatullah Omarzai smacked for a while but Mustafizur came and gave the crucial breakthrough for Bangladesh as he got Omarzai for a fine 25 off 21 balls. In the next over, Taskin got Karim Janat and left Afghanistan stuttering for 109-7.

The death bowling from Bangladesh was too good and they conceded only 10 off last 2 overs as both Taskin and Mustafizur did their job very nicely and restricted Afghanistan to 116-7 after alloted 17 overs. The target was settled for Bangladesh was 119 in 17 overs due to DLS method. Taskin Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers from Bangladesh as he picked up 3 wickets conceding only 33 from his 4 over quota. Also Shakib and Mustafizur had two wickets apiece.

In reply of 119, Litton gave Bangladesh off to a rollicking start as he cashed on everything loose came from Afghan bowlers. He smacked 2 boundaries of Fazalhaq Farooqi's first over and then in the second over of Wafadar Mohammad Litton hit hat-trick of boundaries and raced to 22 off only 10 deliveries.

Bangladesh took 50 runs off first 5 overs as Afif Hossain too gave hands with Litton in the carnage. The openers added 67 runs on the tally before Mujeeb Ur Rahman got Litton Das for 35 off 36 deliveries. Mujeeb got Afif in the same over and Bangladesh lost back to back wickets in span of 5 minutes. But in the next over, Azmatullah Omarzai got the wicket of Shanto and Bangladesh lost another. But Towhid Hridoy in the 13th over smacked a boundary, Shakib too followed the style and he smacked another and Bangladesh took 12 off that single over and reduced the deficit to 28 off last 24 balls.

Shakib in the next over smoked Rashid Khan for a six and Bangladesh needed run a ball then. In Azmatullah's over Towhid hit a six and departed in the very next ball. With Shakib in there Bangladesh needed only 4 off last 6 balls. And Shamim smashed a four and won the match by 6 wickets to clinch the series by 2-0.
