South Africa beat West Indies by 3 wickets to seal their spot for the semi-final of ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. Tabraiz Shamsi bowled another superb spell, where he picked up 3 wickets to restrict West Indies out for a paltry 135 runs. In reply, South Africa got scare but eventually they chased down the target to reach to the semifinal.

Earlier on, being asked to bat first, Windies had a terrible start, losing Shai Hope for a golden duck. Aiden Markram then removed Nicholas Pooran. Kyle Mayers dug in there to consume 34 balls to score just 35 before holing out to Shamsi.

Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi bowled incredible spell together to dismantle the West Indies' middle order in a blink of an eye.

Roston Chase stood tall and played a lone hand of 52 off 42 balls to help his side propel to a modest total of 135 runs on the board.

Tabraiz Shamsi was the standout bowler as he picked up 3 wickets, while Jansen, Markram, Maharaj and Rabada all chipped in with one wicket each.

In reply, South Africa started scratchily as the openers departed in the second over. Then the enormous rain arrived and halted the game for a long portion of time. After the rain break, the target was changed for DLS method. Aiden Markram threw his wicket away after the rain and Heinrich Klaasen too fell against run of play.

David Miller played one of the worst knocks ever as he consumed 14 balls to score only 3 runs before being knocked out to Roston Chase.

Chase brought Windies back and removed well settled Tristan Stubbs as well and South Africa were in all sorts of trouble. However, Marco Jansen kept his nerve cool to take his side home in style.
