South Africa U19 have beaten the Bangladesh U19 by 10 runs in DLS method to go 1-0 up in the ongoing ODI series on Friday (7th July) in Khulna.
South Africa U19 came to bat first and the match was reduced to 29 overs due to rain.
Protean openers gave them a fine start as they added 59 on opening stand. Pretorius made 25 off 37 while Van ZyI scored 31 off only 43 deliveries. David Teeger the captain of South African U19 side made a fluent 37 off only 32 deliveries.
The middle order collapsed horribly and they were crumbling against Bangladeshi bowlers. However they could manage only 145-8 after alloted 29 overs on the board.
Bangladesh was given a target of 162 due to DLS method, chasing the total, Bangladesh U19 batters fell into a deep sea. Maphaka struck earlier as he got Shibli for a duck. Adil Bin Siddik scored a fine 24 off 34 balls. Bangladesh’s middle order crumbled and collapsed horribly. But the end James and Rafi fought hard as the first one scored 29 off 36, while the latter made a brilliant 37 off 28 balls but these weren’t enough to take Bangladesh U19 home.
