Bangladesh U-19 have blown away Nepal U-19 by 5 wickets to reach to the semifinal of U-19 Asia Cup 2024. All-round brilliance from Azizul Hakim helped Bangladesh get to a superb victory. And Bangladesh bowlers' too played a crucial role in this win.
Fifty from skipper Azizul Hakim steered Bangladesh U-19 to the semis.
Opting to field first, Bangladesh bowled incredibly well, removing Mayan Yadav, Arjun Kumal and Naren Bhatta cheaply. Rizan Hossan knocked over Santosh Yadav for a sedate 7 off 29 balls.
Uttam Magar and Aakash Tripathi then had a slowish partnership together. Magar managed to get 29 off 69 deliveries, while Aakash Tripathi scored 43 off 77 balls.
At the backend of the innings, Abhisekh Tiwari made 29 off only 35 balls which helped Nepal U-19 get to 141 on the board.
Al Fahad, Rizan Hossan had two wickets each. While others chipped in with one wicket each.
In reply, Kalam Siddiki was knocked over by Dhami after a two-ball duck. Zawad Abrar and Azizul Hakim stood tall and stitched a partnership together. The duo played cautiously and they outbatted Nepal totally, which helped Bangladesh make it to the semifinal.
Mohammad Shihab James was gone for a golden duck but that didn’t make any difference in the result as Bangladesh won the match by five wickets.
