Shubman Gill is not ruled out of the upcoming game against Australia, confirms Rohit Sharma

Team India will kick-start their World Cup 2023 venture on October 8, Sunday at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai as they will lock horns with the Australian cricket team. It remains to be seen which team defies the challenges and comes out on top in the highly-anticipated battle.

Meanwhile, the fans are curiously looking forward to witnessing the epic clash between the two titans. Earlier, multiple reports suggested that Shubman Gill will be missing India's opening game against Australia.
The 24-year-old is suffering from dengue fever as per ANI. As a result, there are doubts over his selection in the playing XI against Australia. Even Indian skipper Rohit Sharma confessed that Gill is not 100 per cent while addressing the reporters in the pre-match press conference.
He further chipped in with an important health update about Shubman Gill. The Indian captain echoed that the team management is going to give every chance for the youngster to recover before adding that Shubman Gill is not ruled out yet.
"The mood is pretty good as it is before the start of every big tournament. We've come into this tournament prepared really well, so quite confident about us skill-wise. We're looking forward to the game. Everybody's fit. Gill is not 100 per cent, but he's sick. So, there's no injury concern. Gill is not feeling well," the skipper added.
Rohit Sharma added that the management is constantly keeping a tab on Shubman Gill on a daily basis. "We are monitoring him on a daily basis. We're going to give him every chance to recover and see how he feels. So, he's not ruled out yet," skipper Rohit Sharma said in a pre-match press conference.
In case Shubman Gill doesn't recover in time for the upcoming clash, then Rohit Sharma is expected to open the Indian innings with Ishan Kishan.
